Child Rights Impact Assessments (CRIA’s)

Child Rights Impact Assessments undertaken across Cardiff Council have become more commonplace in recent months, with services utilising the resources and guidance provided by the

Child Friendly Team. The importance of CRIA’s are to assess the impact of policies and strategies across the Council, importantly helping to outline ways in which to mitigate any negative impacts of the proposed piece of work.

CRIA’s have been carried out on areas such as transport, youth services, and temporary accommodation during the last few months. The Council’s corporate policy and improvement team have also been working more closely with colleagues in Child Friendly to make improvements to the CRIA process.
